Dwynwen - Leader
I’m Aunty Dwynwen and I live in Nefyn with my husband, Bryn and our three children, Guto, siwan and Nel – not forgetting Ned the dog. I’m quite new to childcare, and have been working in a Cylch Meithrin for 7 years. Previously, I was working as a Personal Assistant in a Further Education College. While working as a Leader, I have completed a Level 3 and Level 5 Diploma course in Child Care, Learning and Development (Management). I attend several courses that are offered to us as child care practitioners, such as. Makaton, Elklan as well as the latest training on ALN, Child Development and Enabling Adults.
I enjoy walking the dog on Nefyn beach and around the paths of Mynydd Nefyn. I love going abroad with the family, when we get the opportunity. We enjoy getting together as an extended family to celebrate birthdays, we enjoy home cooked food and games to entertain. Family is very important to me. I love gardening and gain satisfaction from growing flowers from seed. Gardening is a way for me to relax, believe it or not!
I love working with pre-school aged children. Being able to observe their development is a pleasure and I feel proud when I realize that I am making a difference in a child’s life.

Bethan - Assistant
Hello, I’m Aunty Bethan. I live in Nefyn with my husband Iwan and three children, Hana, Tomi and Megan. I have worked with children since leaving college with a qualification in Health and Social Care. I went on to work at St Joseph’s nursery in Caernarfon and then on to ‘Camau Cyntaf’.
After the birth of my second child, I decided to stay home for a few years to raise my little family.
I started my job at Cylch Meithrin Nefyn in 2016. Since then, I have succeeded to do several courses, including NVQ Level 3. I have enjoyed completing the NCFE Level 3 Award course in Transition to Playwork as well as up-to-date courses such as Makaton, Child Development and Enabling Adults. These courses have helped me gain the most relevant and contemporary skills. When passing the knowledge and using it to the children in our care, it gives me pure pleasure to see them develop and grow
To carry on with my personal development, I would like to complete a ‘Forest School’ course. I’m sure the children will benefit so much from this. They would develop confidence and self-esteem through practical experiences in a natural setting.

Karen - Assistant
Hello, my name is Karen and I come from Staffordshire originally and moved to Nefyn in 1995. I now live in Morfa Nefyn with my husband and 2 of my 3 grown up children. I have 2 granddaughters who live close by with my eldest daughter and her partner. I regularly look after them so their parents can work their irregular shift pattern.
Before starting to work in the cylch, I was a stay at home mum when my children were small. I started working in Cylch Meithrin Nefyn at the end of 2004. I have since achieved NVQ Level 2 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Care and Education and City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Management). I attend courses as required to promote my ongoing professional development.
When I have time, I like to read and sew cross-stich. At the moment, I have several cross-stich projects on the go so I don’t get bored looking at the same one all the time. I also like going out on my paddleboard to have some quiet time on my own.

Natalie - Assistant
Hi I’m Anti Nat :) I live in Nefyn with my electrician husband Gwyn and our three daughter’s Grace, Olivia and Isabelle. My girls keep me extremely busy! If I’m not playing taxi to various events, I can be found at the netball court or the dance studio being their biggest supporter. We love to travel and are looking forward to our holiday this year. When the opportunity arises, I enjoy catching up with my friends and putting the world to rights with a brew in the garden.
I have been in this role for over 10 years holding a level 3 NVQ and pride myself in being an up- to-date relevant practitioner having most recently completed training in child development and enabling adults in play. I’m always on the lookout for new ways to develop the children’s learning opportunities. I look forward to enrolling on the transition to play work course in the near future.
Previous to this I worked within the learning disability sector in the NHS but find working in the nursery more suited to our family. I am competent in Makaton and enjoy supporting the children in developing their understanding of sign. One of my favourite things to do is tell jokes and make the children smile. There’s nothing I love more than hearing the children laugh and shine in our care.
